Privacy and confidentiality

Charles Darwin University (the University) collects and manages personal information in accordance with the Northern Territory Information Act, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the University’s Privacy and Confidentiality Policy.

The University’s GDPR Privacy Notice sets out the way the University collects, uses, discloses and stores personal information.

If you are located in the European Union (EU) or the United Kingdom (UK), the University complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in relation to your personal data.

For clarity, the University’s GDPR Notice, together with the University’s Privacy and Confidentiality Policy, serves as the main source of information on when, why, and how we collect and use the personal data of UK and EU residents.

Freedom of Information

Freedom of Information (FOI) requests or applications for access to information or correct information must be made using the correct form below. There is no application fee if your application is limited to your own personal information. Otherwise, there is a $30 application fee, payable via the University’s Payonline site: https://webpay.cdu.edu.au/foi

The University publishes a lot of information about what we do. Before you make an FOI request, you should research the type of information we hold or contact our Information Officer to discuss what information you think the University holds to see what they have available and discuss options for access.

If your application is limited to documents that contain your personal information only, you may still be required to pay a processing fee as set out in the Information Regulations. If you are required to pay a processing fee, the University will give you an estimate of the fees and seek your agreement before proceeding further with the application. You may also be required to pay a deposit. Processing fees may be waivered in limited circumstances.
